Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug is facing his third arrest in roughly 18 months after Texas police picked him up Friday (Aug. 21) on charges of driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession, and unlawful firearm possession.

BigX, real name Xavier Darnell Landum, was booked into the Collin County Jail.

Per CBS News Texas, Allen Police Department public information officer Sam Rippamonti told reporters, "At this time, we can confirm that an arrest has been made. However, we are unable to provide any additional details,"

Friday marked exactly one year since BigXthaPlug was arrested in Dallas on Aug. 21, 2025, on marijuana possession and unlawful firearm possession charges. He was out on bail on those prior charges at the time of his latest arrest.

The 2025 arrest unfolded after Dallas police stopped a pickup truck for a missing front license plate on South Great Trinity Forest Way near U.S. 175. When an officer asked whether he was carrying a firearm, Landum confirmed he was and directed officers to its location in the vehicle. A criminal database flagged him as connected to a gang in Arlington, making firearm possession a legal violation. That stop also turned up a small amount of marijuana.

The timing of the new arrest immediately disrupted his touring schedule. BigX missed his Friday-night set at the Country Rising Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where organizers cited a "personal emergency" on Instagram and acknowledged fans' "disappointment and frustration."
