Apparent technical difficulties didn’t stop Kendrick Lamar from making a memorable appearance at Beyoncé’s latest show in the Los Angeles area on Monday night.

“I want y’all to give it up for somebody special,” Beyoncé told the crowd, as seen in fan-shared footage. At this point in the singer’s performance of the “America Has a Problem” remix, Kendrick emerged from the floor of the stage.

Initially, Kendrick’s wireless mic appeared to not be working, resulting in a period of silence during his surprise appearance. However, deeper into the song, the mic suddenly roared into life, drawing cheers from the crowd.
