21 Savage has been honored with his own day.
State Representative Billy Mitchell commemorated the Atlanta rapper on Wednesday, during his fourth annual holiday Grant-A-Wish event. That very kind of work is the reason why 21 has now been given his own day, in recognition “for being an outstanding citizen with his continued philanthropic efforts in the community and nationally with his bank account financial literacy program,” according to a press release.
During the proclamation ceremony, Mitchell announced that Dec. 21 will now be 21 Savage Day. That day, 21 invited 100 local parents and children to his annual toy drive, where they were given gifts and snacks to celebrate the holidays at the Wade Walker Park Family YMCA in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Some of the free gifts included Moolah wireless free tablets, Christmas treats, and more.
21 launched his 21 Savage Bank Account Campaign back in 2018 to create access to financial literacy. He gave out 21 scholarships, totaling $21,000, to get the program up and running—and teaches young people how to manage money, open a bank account, and save money for school. In addition to this program and the holiday drive, 21 also hosts a back-to-school drive for young people.
