Ricky Martin has announced that he and longtime partner Jwan Yosef are divorcing, ending their six-year marriage, People reports.
Jwan and the Puerto Rican pop star posted a joint statement on Thursday confirming the split, and said it was an amicable decision between the both of them.
"We have decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years," the statement read.
They added, "Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on peace and friendship to continue the joint upbringing of our children, preserving the respect and love we have for each other."
The former couple, who met on Instagram back in 2015 and announced they were dating at the amFAR Inspiration Gala in 2016, share two young children together.
The "Livin' La Vida Loca" crooner had previously spoken about his marriage in 2018 during an interview with E! News. "I'm a husband, but we're doing a heavy party in a couple of months," he told the outlet. "We exchanged vows, and we've swear [sic] everything, and we've signed all the papers that we needed to sign, prenups and everything."
Divorce aside, Martin will soon star in Apple TV+'s period comedy Palm Royale alongside Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Allison Janney and Carol Burnett. He'll then embark on The Trilogy Tour throughout North America with co-headliners Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias.
