Raveena has announced her sophomore album Asha’s Awakening will drop on Feb. 11, and in tandem with the news released her single “Secret” featuring Vince Staples.

The new track’s coinciding video relishes in the sounds of Bollywood and early 2000s pop music as Raveena croons over a driving beat about her pursuit of a new lover. Vince doesn’t make an appearance in the visual, but his lyrics can be heard loud and clear as he raps about his “late night lover.”

Raveena’s upcoming project follows in the footsteps of 2020’s Moonstone EP as well as her 2021 single “Tweety.”

As for Asha’s Awakening, the 15-track project will be a concept album, per a press release. The story will follow a space princess from ancient Punjab who takes an odyssey across time and space to learn about love and destruction.

“To me, ‘Secret’ is a song about love that traverses through different dimensions. People on Earth are starting to have sensual dreams ignited in them by a space princess,” Raveena stated. “Someone they feel like their body knows, but whom they also do not know and cannot reach in this dimension. What if your lover was enticing you from space and you couldn’t reach them in this realm? What if a spirit from an outer dimension ignited your sacral chakra? This is what ‘Secret’ explores.”

As for Vince, he reportedly has another album ready to drop even though it’s only been six months since his self-titled record. The Long Beach artist took to Twitter at the top of the month to share an update. “This album is done if I can get @djquik,” he wrote.

Less than a week later, DJ Quik seemingly agreed to meet with Staples. Quik took to Instagram to share a photo of them working together at West Hollywood’s Westlake Recording Studio.

“In the Michael Jackson room,” he wrote, referring to the studio where MJ recorded his 1982 smash Thriller. Vince has said in interviews that his next album is called Ramona Park Broke My Heart.
