What would a new Drake album be if he didn't include some Canadian reference in it? On the Lil Yachty-assisted "Another Late Night" off of For All The Dogs, Drake name-dropped Dillon Brooks.
"Shawty ran some Dillon Brooks / can't believe this n— talkin', damn," he raps at the beginning of his verse.
On Genius, the annotation of the bar claims Drake could be referencing an interview between ESPN and Team Canada during the FIBA World Cup where the former asked the team to choose between Drake and Ryan Reynolds. Everyone on the team chose Drake except for Brooks.
On Twitter, however, people seem to be sure the bar is a clear diss towards the Houston Rockets wing.
Someone else said Brooks would be happy to see himself referenced in a Drake song, possibly due to his villain-like persona.
One user likened Drake potentially dissing Dillon Brooks to Canadian on Canadian crime.
While most people do seem convinced Drake is sending shots at Brooks, the reason behind it is up in the air.
The bar could also reference Brooks' talking trash towards LeBron James during the 2023 NBA playoffs, though the vagueness of the lyric could mean a number of things.
In any case, those who caught the diss are finding it hilarious.
The album is filled with many different references including a bar about people talking about his friendship with actress Millie Bobby Brown just a few bars after the alleged Brooks diss.
For All The Dogs dropped early this morning and is stacked with different features and producers.
