Cardi B Comments on Security Guards Allegedly Attacking Man Seeking Autograph

Cardi has since deleted the tweet in which she spoke out about the incident.

After the Met Gala Monday night, three members of Cardi B’s entourage allegedly beat up a fan who wanted Cardi’s autograph and refused to take no for an answer. The fan had to go to a nearby hospital, and videos of the attack were obtained by TMZ. Tuesday, Cardi spoke out in a now deleted tweet.

"If you check my tag pics i take a lot of pics with fans," Cardi tweeted on Tuesday, New York's PIX 11 reported. "Some people are not fans &sometimes i don't want no pics and i simply don't want people too close cause of [pregnant woman emoji] i don't know what are people's intentions sooo i Be careful. Why can't people respect that?"

The dispute occurred at about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, as Cardi was leaving a Met Gala afterparty at the Mark Hotel with her fiancé Offset. In one Snapchat video, it appears as though the men responsible for the assault belonged to Migos’ security detail. In any case, the artists and security guards were gone by the time police arrived, and the NYPD is currently investigating the incident.

"Our client was beaten to a pulp for requesting an autograph," Attorney Daniel Szalkiewicz, who is representing the fan, told the New York Daily News. "Our client was held in the hospital overnight for observation. The videos clearly show this was not an act of self-defense. The assailants fled the scene to avoid being arrested for their savage attack. No fan should ever be treated in this manner, and words never justify violence."
