Gunna announced Wednesday that he will release A Gift & A Curse, his first project since being released from jail, this Friday, June 16.

The announcement comes after Gunna addressed snitching allegations on "Bread & Butter" earlier this month.

"Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ’em/On whatever you n***as on, then trust me I’mma stand on it," he rapped on the track. "Lawyers and that DA did some sneaky shit, I fell for it/On my P’s and Q’s because this time I be prepared for it.”

In response to his release, some of Gunna's peers wondered if his plea deal involved him snitching on his co-defendants. Boosie Badazz went as far as calling the Georgia native a "rat," sharing a clip where Gunna allegedly admits the YSL collective is a record label as well as a gang.

Gunna's attorney Steve Sadow came to his client's defense on Instagram in December. "Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail. He has said nothing and is not cooperating," Sadow wrote. "His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies.”

Gunna was released from jail in December 2022 after agreeing to a plea deal in connection to the YSL trial. He pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge and received a time-served, suspended sentence.

Stay tuned for A Gift & A Curse this Friday.
