Spotify "Spotlight 2016" artist Gallant returns today with the first episode of a new project called "In the Room" in conjunction with the streaming giant. "It's an ongoing collaborative project— a chance to both pay tribute to and create something special with the artists that have inspired me the most" explains Gallant in a press release.

For the opening episode, Gallant teams up with previous collaborator Sufjan Stevens to perform an emotional live rendition of "Blue Bucket of Gold" off Steven's most recent album, Carrie and Lowell. The notes that Gallant hits are almost inhuman, yet still strikingly beautiful.

If you remember, the two also teamed up back in November to cover Drake's "Hotline Bling." Gallant and Sufjan's video arrives on the heels of this year's Coachella lineup announcement, which both artists will be playing this spring. Watch the performance above and be sure to stick around until the end when Sufjan shares the origin story behind the title for "Blue Bucket of Gold."
