At long last, El-P and Killer Mike have shared the first track from their Run The Jewels 2 remix album, you know, the one made "using nothing but cat sounds" that got unexpectedly crowd-funded earlier this year. The guys shared the Run The Jewels 2 reworking earlier tonight on their Beats 1 radio show. The song, a flip of the album track "Early," still features Boots and morphs a pretty standard "meow" into an underlying growl throughout. There's also a smattering of different cat sounds coming from every direction, often manipulated beyond original recognition.
As for the whole project? We're still waiting on some more details, but El-P had this to say yesterday.
