Apple Music has just lined Everyday Struggle co-host Nadeska Alexis up with her latest radio series R&B Now with Nadeska. She'll hold in-depth interviews with established and rising stars, and play new and exclusive tracks as well as songs featured on popular Apple Music R&B playlists.

In episode one of the new series, Nadeska is joined by Kehlani, who's preparing to release her sophomore album It Was Good Until It Wasn't on May 8. During their conversation, the two talked about why this record looks to be Kehlani's favorite so far, what it was like working with Tory Lanez, Jhené Aiko, and others, and how Drake played a key part in her figuring out the project's name.

When asked how she came up with the album's title, Kehlani responded, "Well, I didn't come up with it."

"We had went to Canada to finish our, I always say 'our' album because I fuck with my team so heavy, like, it was me, my videographer, my little play brother that I co-write with, my assistants," she said. "So, I went to go finish the project, and the last day we went with Boi-1da and ended up going to Drake's house."

She went on to describe how their conversation led to her realizing the name of the release. "We're just having, like, a life conversation, talking about the old music, talking about what we're both 'bout to do. And then I was just talking about [my] personal life and I was just like, 'Man, yeah it was good until it wasn't' and he was like, 'Say that shit again,' and I was like 'What?' and he was like 'That's your album.' And I was like, 'You might be fuckin' right.'"

Aside from that revelation, Kehlani also talked about why she loves this record so much. "I'm the most proud of this project because of coming to the studio with my under-1-year-old and writing and then feeding and then writing and then feeding. Because of sitting in my garage and, like, learning these programs on YouTube and, like, getting it until we get it. Just me and [my photographer]."
