Outside of, say, people who lie to you and tell you "I have everything I need," there's probably nobody harder to shop for around the holidays than somebody who can buy whatever they want.

In such cases, the only option is to go with gift certificates the sentimental route.

Enter: Drake and his uncle.

On December 25, the rapper's uncle gifted his famous nephew his first-ever royalty check, in a frame. We know because Drake said so on his Instagram Stories.

"My uncle found and gifted me my first earnings from music," Drake said, according to HipHopDX (who noted that the check, dated November 15, 2007 from the The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada had a value of $304.04). "Came a long way from 3 bills in royalties."

For those with trust issues and need visual proof, here you go:

In what seems somewhat related (I think?), this comes a day after Bill Murray and Jenny Lewis covered Drake's "Laugh Now Cry Later" with Lil Durk. For those in the room with family you can't connect with on any level, watching this will give you an extra minute to stare at your phone and pretend like you're doing something important:

For others looking to get something, there's still time. And not only because December 25 is an artificial date and you can celebrate Christmas whenever you want. Here's some Complex Digital Holiday Cards perfect for the person you're socially distanced from who can also understand recent pop culture references. Pair with Venmo for people you like and I guess don't for people you don't.
