Kodak Black has a new civil case to go on top of his pending criminal charges.
On Monday, The Blast wrote that the rapper has been hit with a new lawsuit despite being behind bars in Miami. According to documents obtained by the site, promoter Nicholas Fitts is accusing Kodak of agreeing to multiple shows before skipping out on the performances. He allegedly signed on to perform in New York on March 3, 2017 and was a no-show. Kodak agreed to reschedule the concert for the following month but ended up ditching this performance as well. Still, Fitts gave him another chance to make good on the deal by scheduling a third show that Kodak would end up skipping.
This led Fitts to officially file a lawsuit against Black last month. Yet the 21-year-old's disappearing acts continued and Fitts' attorneys were unable to serve Kodak. That was until Kodak's recent incarceration. Currently, Kodak has been confined to FDC Miami following an arrest at Rolling Loud. Fitts took this opportunity to legally inform Black he's suing for an excess of $500,000 in damages.
While this is an inconvenience, Fitts' lawsuit is likely the least of Kodak's worries. Last week, the rapper was indicted by a grand jury for falsifying federal documents to purchase firearms. Due to this, his bail from his sexual assault case in South Carolina has been revoked, leaving him behind bars despite receiving a bond for his gun charges.
