DaBaby's show in Tampa, Florida ended in dismay after the rapper assaulted a woman before his performance began.
In footage obtained by TMZ, DaBaby can be seen making his way through the crowd at Whiskey North. While he was walking to the stage, a woman was waving her phone in his direction. The device seemingly got too close to his face prompting the rapper to unhinge and slap the woman.
People in attendance for this stop of DaBaby's Up Close N Personal Tour say that this incident caused the crowd to turn on him. After the shock of the altercation wore off, attendees started to boo the rapper loudly. So DaBaby and his team left before getting a chance to perform a song. Police did come to the scene in response to a call about the assault, but no arrests were made.
After leaving the venue, DaBaby took to his IG Stories where he alleges that the victim hit him in the face with her phone. He went on to offer $10,000 to anyone that has a clear angle of the woman's phone touching his face. He also wants her legal name so that his lawyers can start building a case.
Although he's looking at taking legal action, DaBaby did issue an apology to the victim.
"I do sincerely apologize. I do," DaBaby said via IG Stories. "I’m very sorry that there was a female on the other end of that flashlight on that phone. But you know, keep in mind, I couldn’t see you because you got the flash this close to me. Which is okay, it’s no problem. A lot of people did — they didn’t put it as close as you put it — but a lot of people had flash on me, and that’s okay. ... But out of all them fans—how many people know how to zoom in? Just zoom in instead of popping me in the motherfucking eye with the phone."
DaBaby went on to say that he would've reacted the same way no matter the victim's gender.
"I think by this time, you know it’s a well known fact that male or female, I would’ve responded the same exact way," he continued. "I would love to apologize to you in person. ... I would love to make the situation better any way I can."
