After last yearā€™s botched New Yearā€™s Eve performance, Mariah Carey is back and promises to be better than ever. The singing legend took to Twitter to announce her ā€œtake 2ā€ performance at Dick Clarkā€™s New Yearā€™s Rockinā€™ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

You may remember that the pop divaā€™s appearance at the 2016 production was, by all accounts, an epic fail. She refused to continue singing during her performance of ā€œEmotions,ā€ complaining about technical difficulties throughout the song. In similar fashion, her performance of ā€œWe Belong Togetherā€ was marred by the same issues, causing the singer to walk off the stage as the backing track continued playing. Mariah reached out to her millions of fans with a simple explanation: ā€œshit happens.ā€

Mariah didnā€™t shy away from the discussing the performance flubs, either. The megastar and her camp claimed Dick Clark productions sabotaged her performance with with technical glitches and a faulty earpiece. DCP, in response, claimed Mariah hadnā€™t dedicated enough time rehearsing and therefore showed up ill-prepared for the big night.

According to Variety, both parties were able to bury the hatchet. Dick Clark Productions reached out to Carey with an opportunity to redeem herself with an encore performance, an offer she ā€œagreed to without hesitation.ā€ This time, sheā€™ll reportedly have a full band and back-up dancers, much like she does for her Las Vegas residency.

A joint statement from both parties reads: ā€œWe can all agree that last year didnā€™t go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration on Dick Clarkā€™s New Yearā€™s Rockinā€™ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018. ā€œSee you in Times Square!ā€

Hereā€™s to hoping Carey can pull off a performance to remember.Ā
