Azealia Banks Says She Has 'Second-Hand Embarrassment' Over Nicki Minaj's Recent Antics

Azealia Banks is the queen of unsolicited opinions, though this time she might not be wrong, particularly as she breaks down the beef between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.

Azealia Banks is the queen of unsolicited opinions, though this time she might not be wrong.

On Monday, Twitter account user @ToniChildish shared a screenshot of Banks’ thoughts on the beef between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, which Banks posted on her Instagram story. @ToniChildish captioned the tweet, “Damn Azealia. This is accurate af.”

Banks had written, “and I'm sorry...Nicki isn't even saying anything smart. This is LITERALLY all because cardi got number one and she's number two. like there's no cultural or academic nuance to any of nickis arguments. It's all ‘I bullied Lil Kim because I thought I was the cute light skinned girl, called her a monkey and stole all her ideas, now a new light skinned girl is here and I want to fight for black womens rights all while normalizing pedophiles and not collaborating with any new women because I truthfully don't want to uplist anyone as I'm scared they could be bigger than me.’”

She continued, “I'm literally having second hand embarrassment (sic) over how stupid Nicki looks right now.”

On Aug. 16, Nicki joined Ebro for an episode of Queen Radio, where Nicki was again pressed about her rumored feud with Cardi. Nicki became visibly agitated, responding to Ebro’s query about Cardi by saying, “Now, I didn’t know Cardi and I had an issue, but I guess we do since you’re saying it and other people are saying it. To me, she may have taken an issue with things that I’ve said, but I’m not going to bite my tongue […] You gotta have thick skin. People talk shit about me all the time […] You can’t be expect to be liked and loved and praised all the fuckin’ time. Give me a break.”

Indeed, Nicki and Cardi’s complicated relationship has been in and out of headlines over the year. Many believe that the New York natives have been taking subliminal shots at each other, yet Cardi has maintained that there was no bad blood.

“I just feel like it's really internet made-up,” Cardi told Ebro back in April. “I really feel like fans and people really want to see that happen because it's really entertaining. To see people beef is entertaining.”
