Is Tekashi 6ix9ine going away soon? A lot of people are wondering after his scheduled court appearance today.

On Monday, the controversial rapper went to social media with a post that suggested he was abandoning his fledgling music career: “Waiting for someone to rob me. Ima quit rapping this year,” he wrote on Instagram. “I accomplished everything I dreamed of in five months.”

6ix9ine also shared an Instagram video in which he asked his followers to send prayers ahead of his next court date stemming from his 2015 child sex case.

“I got court tomorrow,” he said in the video. “I want everybody to put me in their prayers. Hopefully we come out on top. GED is done, everything is done. But you never know what the judge is gonna say.”

On Tuesday, several outlets reported that the scheduled court hearing never happened because 6ix9ine was a no-show. However, a source confirmed to Complex that the court date was simply postponed. The source did not confirm the reason for the postponement, but DJ Akademiks claims it was because the court did not have a copy of the rapper’s GED.

As some of you might remember, 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to use of a child in a sexual performance in 2017. As a part of the plea deal, the rapper was required to complete his GED or risk up to three years behind prison bars. The source insisted it is unlikely that the rapper will be incarcerated, as he’s allegedly fulfilled his GED requirement, as well as the other terms of his deal.

It is unclear when 6ix9ine's next court hearing will take place.

The situation became more bizarre Tuesday afternoon, when the rapper's official Instagram account was completely wiped out, with the exception of one post purportedly shared by his management.

In addition to promoting his new single “Gotti,” which is now available on all major streaming services, the caption also revealed 6ix9ine would be gone “until further notice.” We’re not exactly sure what that means, but his management claims there will be more information coming soon.
