The wait for Saweetie’s debut studio album just became a bit more bearable.

The “Icy Girl” rapper came through with “Closer,” a H.E.R.-assisted dance track about living carefree and enjoying oneself. “I wanna fall in love for the weekend/Three boyfriends I don’t know where I’m sleeping,” she raps on the single. “We be thuggin’, clubbin’, f*ckin’/Order room service when we done, that’s the sequence.”

The song arrives as fans patiently await Saweetie’s much-anticipated project, Pretty Bitch Music, which is expected to arrive later this year. Since announcing the effort back in 2020, the West Coast native has shared some of its tracks, including “Tap In,” “Back to the Streets” with Jhené Aiko, “Fast (Motion),” and “Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat; the latter of which earned her nod for Best Rap Song at the upcoming Grammy Awards, where she’s also vying for Best New Artist.

“I think everything is falling into place as it should be,” Saweetie told Billboard after the Grammy nominations were announced. “I think we’ve been working really hard. [2021] is the year I think I’ve worked the hardest and not just out of my career but in my years of being on the Earth. So to be acknowledged is very gratifying after a year of hard work.”

You can stream “Closer” now on all major platforms, and check out the Hannah Lux Davis-directed video up top.
