It looks like Tidal will no longer have the exclusive streaming rights to Prince’s music.
As reported by Pitchfork, sources with knowledge of the deal have confirmed the late singer’s catalog will be available on Apple Music and Amazon Music “very soon.” The companies have reportedly inked a contract with Warner Music Group, which was granted the licensing rights to Prince’s entire discography shortly after his death last April.
But it appears Apple Music and Amazon Music weren’t the only streaming services to land a Prince deal. This week, Spotify posted never-before-seen advertisements in Manhattan that suggest a new partnership with the singer’s estate and WMG. The purple ads appeared in Union Square subway station Monday morning, featuring nothing more than the Spotify logo; however, the choice of color increased speculation that the company would soon introduce Prince to its services.

L. Londell McMillan, a special entertainment adviser to Prince's estate, told Billboard that a deal with Spotify was not confirmed as of last week. But judging by all these reports and new ads popping up, it’s safe to assume Prince’s music will be much more accessible in the near future.
