Looks Like Lana Del Rey Might Have Made a Lil Uzi Vert Reference in Song Preview

It definitely sounds—and reads—that way. On Thursday night, the singer-songwriter Lana De Rey shared a snippet of her upcoming song “Happiness Is a Butterfly.”

Lana Del Rey has a new record on deck. And it appears to include an unlikely reference.

On Thursday night, the singer-songwriter shared a snippet of her upcoming song “Happiness Is a Butterfly.” The featured lyrics appeared to paraphrase the famous quote: “Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”

Lana actually tweeted this quote earlier this month; however, this isn’t the reference that caught people’s attention.

Just take a look below.

Did you catch it? If not, check out the lyrics in the caption. The last line reads, “and sing it for my babies on the tourlyfe.” The spelling of the last word appears to be a nod to Lil Uzi Vert and the “XO Tour Llif3” track off his debut album Luv Is Rage 2

It’s unclear if “Happiness Is a Butterfly” will be released as a standalone record or if it’ll land on Lana’s upcoming album. Though the singer has spent the first quarter of 2018 on her LA to the Moon Tour, she has reportedly been working on new music with Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff.
