Virgil Abloh music project is reportedly on the way.

Cardo Got Wings announced the collaborative effort via Twitter on Thursday, nearly two months after Abloh died at age 41. The rapper/producer told fans he and the fashion icon had been working on a beat tape prior to his death, and he had every intention of sharing it with the world.

“Me and Virgil was working on a beat tape called ‘OFF THE RIP,’” he wrote. “… still coming. Has to.”

Though Abloh was best known for his contributions to the fashion industry, he had also made a name for himself within the music realm. He reportedly started DJing during his teen years, and would go on to release a number of records throughout his career.

“DJing is my only peace of mind,” he told the Guardian in 2016. “When the phone is off, I play my favorite songs really loud for myself and I’m not talking to anyone, I’m not managing anything; it’s just like a time when I can listen to music. So for me now, in the same way I still skateboard now. I don’t play golf. I’ll be DJing after I’m done designing or doing anything else.”

Cardo’s announcement came on the same day Louis Vuitton unveiled Abloh’s final mens collection at Paris Fashion Week. The producer has not indicated when the collaborative tape is expected to drop. Stay tuned.
