Rexx Life Raj's new album 'The Blue Hour'

Nearly two years after the release of his last full-length offering California Poppy 2Rexx Life Raj returns with his latest album The Blue Hour.

The 12-track project includes the previously released singles “Save Yourself,” “Jerry Curl,” “Beauty In The Madness,” and “Balance,” as well as guest appearances from Wale, Larry June, Russ, and Fireboy DML.

“This album is about transition,” the Bay Area artist said about The Blue Hour in a press release. “This album is about grief. This album is about experiencing every emotion and not running from them. This past year and a half have been so insane that I could make another 20 albums about it. From losing my parents, to moving out of places I grew up in and made me who I am, all while trying to maintain some type of balance and sanity. I tried to be as honest and intentional with this project as possible. Creating it helped me in ways I can’t even explain. I pray it does the same for someone else.”

The Blue Hour arrives just a few days after Rexx Life Raj announced his forthcoming tour. The 24-date trek, which will see Raj perform alongside the likes of Russ, Bas, and Marc E. Bassy, kicks off September 22 in Dallas, making stops in Houston, Atlanta, and New York, among others, before wrapping in San Francisco on November 4.

In tandem with the release of his latest LP, Raj also dropped a stripped-down performance “Sunset Over College Park,” the latest installment for his Blue Hour Sunset Sessions series.
