Fresh off the release of his latest album, It’s Almost DryPusha-T stopped by SiriusXM’s Shade45 show, where he opened up about the feud between Kanye West and Kid Cudi.

During the conversation, Pusha-T discussed what it was like working with Ye and Cudi on “Rock N Roll,” a standout track from the Virginia rapper’s latest full-length offering.

When asked if he could help repair Kanye and Cudi’s relationship, Push replied, “I think right now, I’m going to just let them have their space. You couldn’t even imagine the amount of talking I had to do just in regard to getting the record [‘Rock N Roll’] for the album cleared.”

He continued, “Cudi is definitely very strong-willed. He’s standing on what he’s standing on…He’s always been the one to stand next to me. Regardless of what’s going on, whatever...it’s always been like that.”

Pusha-T went on to share details about how the three rappers got together during the pandemic to record “Rock N Roll.”

“I just remember that day so vividly,” he explained. “It was so good...Ye started chopping the Beyonce sample. Cudi just pops in; I hadn’t seen Cudi in a long time, Ye hadn’t seen Cudi in a long time...Cudi came in and killed it. He did five versions of the hook.”

As far as Push is concerned, he’s hopeful that Ye and Cudi could reconcile at some point. “Brothers fight,” he said. “Hopefully we can all figure it out, though.”

Pusha also addressed the feud in a recent interview with Vulture

“It fucking sucks. You know Cudi is my fucking brother to the end. Just navigating these relationships, this brotherhood, the arguing … it gets public. It’s one thing for us to argue. We all argue — that’s not a problem,” he said. “It gets out there, whether it’s Ye bickering first, or Cudi coming back with what he says. It’s super–fucked up. The day we made this record, everybody was so fucking happy.”

Pusha went on to explain what the room was like when the song was first conceived. “Ye’s chopping the Beyoncé sample. Cudi happens to come in that day,” he explained. “We see each other, and I hadn’t seen him in a while. He’s like, ‘I gotta get on a record. Are you crazy?’ Cudi did, like, three or four different references. Beyoncé cleared the sample. There was so much great energy around the making of that record. And, you know, time passes, and issues come up. Cudi really doubling down on this being the last time we’re going to hear them two together … He’s a super-convicted motherfucker. So I appreciate him clearing it up. He did what he did for his bro, and I love him for that.”

A few days before It’s Almost Dry dropped, Cudi took to Twitter to address “Rock N Roll,” revealing it was actually completed “a year ago” and will stand as the “last song” fans will ever hear featuring both Kids See Ghosts collaborators.

“I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye,” Cudi tweeted. “I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye.”

Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He's not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye -Scott

Elsewhere in Pusha’s interview with SiriusXM, he took a question about whether he’d do a track with Ye and Drake, who made up late last year. “Nah! No, I’m cool on all of that,” he said. “I know the song I wanna make, I know the people I wanna work with, and it ain’t that. I want Ye to produce it, but other than that, I definitely don’t wanna do a record.” Push previously touched on the on competitive artists’ reconciliation, saying peace is “something they just have to have. Me personally, you know, I don’t really stand anything to gain from squashing anything.”

King Push also shared details about what it was like working with Jay-Z on their It’s Almost Dry collaboration “Neck & Wrist.” Check out that clip below.
