In an appearance on Drink Champs, Rick Ross suggested there's nothing but "genuine" love between him and Maybach Music signee Meek Mill despite past rumors of beef.
At around the 20:30 point of the episode, as seen above, N.O.R.E. asked Rozay about his recent purchase of Meek's $4.2 million mansion in Atlanta, Georgia. He confirmed he bought the property. "It was something that Meek had posted online," he said. "Shit was moving slow. ... Meek Mill my family." The topic then shifted to N.O.R.E. questioning Ross about rumors of beef between him and Meek. The Drink Champs host suggested that he heard the rumors, but when he saw they were in the studio together again it "touched [his] heart."
"Was that something you planned out?" he asked Ross. "It was nothing that we actually planned, it was most definitely something that just took place," he answered. "The love between Rozay, Meek Mill as well as Gunplay as well as Wale, that's something that's genuine. And it'll remain genuine forever." Later in the interview, he was asked to pick between Meek and Wale, but was unable to because he considers them both "geniuses."
Speculation the two rappers were beefing first surfaced in 2021. It was reported that Ross was denied entry to Meek's birthday party that year, but the two never publicly clarified if there were issues between them. Around the same time, Meek made it clear that he wasn't happy about the conditions surrounding his record deal. In an interview about the situation in late 2021, Ross said he believed that Meek's public criticism of the deal was related to Atlantic Records, not his imprint Maybach Music Group. The pair reunited onstage last year, as Ross shared on Instagram.
Last month, Meek revealed in a tweet that Ross bought a second property from him after buying the mansion. "Ross bought another crib off me for a 'm' yesterday!" he wrote. "I had to ask him tf you doing with all this property."
