Last week, it was reported that Cleveland rapper Q Money was wanted for murder. He was accused of gunning down a fellow musician and leaving them for dead in a living room. It was later confirmed that the identity of the victim was Calvin Chappell.
Q Money was arrested for Chappell's murder. In a newly released statement through a local news station, his family states that Q was simply acting in self-defense. They begin by offering their condolences to the Chappell family for their loss, explaining that they were "very familiar" with Calvin "in his younger years with our son." They added that he was a "kind young man with a bright future as a singing recording artist."
From here they explain that they believe Q Money is not guilty of first-degree murder. "As the facts and evidence continue to become available, we are sure that they will show that Qamar acted in self-defense from feeling as though his life was at risk and being threatened," his family statement continued.

Calvin Chappell was reportedly in Georgia staying with his cousin, who was woken up by their roommate when they walked in on Q standing over the body of Chappell. The unidentified roommate and Chappell's cousin explained that they took the gun from Q and forced him out the door. Upon arriving at the scene, cops discovered shell casings and guns. He was fatally shot in the head at 8:30 a.m. on April 15.
