Kim and Kanye Offer a Look Into Their Los Angeles Home, Reveal Favorite House Guest

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have let cameras into their home before, but it's mostly been in glimpses. In a new feature with Architectural Digest, the couple has offered the most in-depth look at their Los Angeles house yet. After purchasing the estate in 2014, Ye and Kim started their process of turning it into a "futuristic Belgian monastery."

To coincide with the feature, which breaks down how they achieved their dream home with Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt, Kim and Kanye also quizzed each other in a playful interview. The two asked each other what they would get rid of if they lived solo, and they also revealed Dave Chappelle is their favorite house guest. "But he ain't putting his feet on our couch," Kanye added.

Elsewhere in the interview, Ye expressed his frustration at the length of time between Rick and Morty seasons, and they were joined by their daughter North. "Kids are the inspiration for all of our designs going forward," Kanye said with a smile on his face.

Kanye spoke at length about his passion for architecture and design. "When I was growing up in Chicago, before the internet, I’d go to my local Barnes & Noble to check out Architectural Digest and other design magazines, along with the fashion and rap titles," Kanye added. "My father encouraged me. He always had graph paper around for me to scribble on."

Speaking about the distinctive pallette of the house, Kim said she was happy she and Kanye both had a preference for a "neutral" look. "I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness," she said of the minimal design.
