It was recently reported that Future was set to nab his fifth No. 1 solo album, and sixth No. 1 overall on the Billboard 200 albums chart with The WIZRD. The first week projections for The WIZRD indicated that the rapper was going to have a fantastic first-week for his seventh studio album, and now it's been made official. The WIZRD has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with 126,000 units, 15,000 of which were pure album sales.

Future's The WIZRD is the first 2019 album to top the Billboard 200 this year, with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's Hoodie SZN and 21 Savage's i am > i was dominating the first two weeks of the year. The WIZRD marks his last release through Epic Records. "It’s a long road, heading down this road I know how to maneuver down," he said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. "I know how to detour off this road, also. That’s The WIZRD." It's currently not clear who he will be signing with, if anyone, for his next project.

Future netted six straight No. 1's in the shortest span of time for an artist since Elton John did it in the 1970s. He's the first artist to grab the top slot this quickly and consistently since Elton John landed six No. 1 albums in a little over three years.

Elsewhere on the charts, Maggie Rogers debuted at No. 2 with 49,000 units, with 37,000 in album sales. That impressive sales total was the highest for any album this week. The only other newcomer to the Top 10 this week is country singer Cody Johnson. Johnson's Ain’t Nothin’ to It, debuted at No. 9 with nearly 35,000 units, 23,000 coming via album sales.
