50 Cent wants to put his past issues with Jadakiss and Fat Joe behind him.
During the New York City stint of his tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin', Fif brought a number of high-profile guests including J. Cole and Flo Rida. But he also used the occasion to bury the hatchet with two artists he's had longstanding feuds with.
Jadakiss took to the stage at one point to perform his 50 Cent collaboration "Irregular Heartbeat," which they released after seemingly moving on from their issues over Kiss appearing on Ja Rule's "New York."
“I made a lot of money off the 50 thing. It was a different era. ‘Checkmate’ actually charted on Billboards,” Jadakiss told Real 92.3 in 2019. "The Fif thing was beautiful. He was selling that next album…[‘New York’] was a good segue to try to say I was standing close to his enemy.”
Earlier this year, Kiss told I Am Athlete that he didn't think it was that deep at the time, because he just thought "New York" was a good track. He added that he considers 50 "by far" the pettiest person in hip-hop.
When The LOX went against Dipset in a Verzuz battle in 2021, Fif crowned the former as champions and gave a shout-out to Jada.
Fat Joe also appeared onstage with 50 Cent. The two settled their differences following the death of their mutual friend Chris Lightly in 2012, but this is the first time they've appeared onstage together since. It's also worth pointing out that 50 performed "Window Shopper" while Joe was onstage, because that song features a diss directed at him.
Joe ended up in the firing line of 50 Cent due to his friendship with Ja Rule, who's constantly beefed with the rapper. Fif, however, regrets dragging Joe into his conflict with Ja.
“If anybody went next to Ja Rule, I’d jump on the person who featured with them, anybody who was faintly near them, ’cause I put him on life support and you wanna go resuscitate him. So that energy, later you look at it and you go, ‘I was buggin,’" said 50 Cent in an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year. ‘Cause I’ll say that. Fat Joe, his issues, I would see him a little uncomfortable with the success I was having, and I interpreted as, ‘He doesn’t like me,’ when he’s really the kind of guy you want to be friends with because he’s loyal to a default. He’s so loyal for one record that [Murder Inc] did with him [“What’s Luv’] that we became enemies.”
During the New York City concert, 50 Cent invited J. Cole onstage to perform a mini-set. "Can I say this before I walk off stage? If you don't make some noise for one of the greatest n***as to do this shit 50 muthafucking Cent, Curtis Jackson," Cole said. "Get Rich or Die Tryin' is the best album of all time I don't give a fuck what you talking about," Cole said. "It's Get Rich or Die Tryin' at number one and it's Thriller at number two, and I love Michael Jackson."
