Tiffany Young is back with new solo music.
The Girls’ Generation singer and K-pop superstar released her debut solo album, Edge of Calm, on Thursday (August 20). The 11-track LP, including its title track and the pre-release single “Summer’s Not Over,” marks Young’s first solo release since her 2019 EP, Lips on Lips.
“10 years of music, memories, and growing together & somehow .. here we are, still sharing these moments,” Young wrote in English to her Instagram account. “Thank you for listening, for staying, & for meeting me somewhere between the chaos & the quiet. this chapter means more to me than i can put into words, & it feels so special to finally share it with you. heres to letting these songs become a little part of your story, too.. with all my love, always.”
Young made her debut with Girls’ Generation (also known as SNSD) in 2007 at age 18. The K-pop group became a global phenomenon thanks to hits like “Gee,” “Genie,” “I Got a Boy,” and many more. She made her solo debut in May 2016 with the mini-album I Just Wanna Dance.
Following the expiration of her contract with SM Entertainment, Young released her Lips on Lips EP in 2019. That year, she won the Best Solo Breakout at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Next month, Young will head out on the Edge of Calm Tour, an eight-city trek that will visit numerous cities in Asia, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, and Seoul.
Young recently hinted to Forbes’ Jeff Benjamin that her future plans with Girls’ Generation, who will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2027, will be “big” and “a fun era for the fans.”
