Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' Beats Nicki Minaj's 'Queen' to Remain No. 1

In its first week, Minaj’s 19-track project pushed 185,000 equivalent album units with 78,000 in traditional album sales, putting it behind 'Astroworld.'

With all the drama that’s transpired, it feels like it’s been years since Nicki Minaj unleashed her fourth studio album Queen—but it’s just been a week. In that week, Minaj’s 19-track project pushed 185,000 equivalent album units with 78,000 in traditional album sales, according to Billboard. This beats expectations that Queen would sell between 135,000 to 150,000 units with 45,000 to 55,000 in in traditional album sales.

However, those numbers were not enough to put Minaj in the No. 1 spot on this week’s Billboard 200. Travis Scott maintained his reigning position on the chart for the second week in a row, moving 205,000 equivalent album units with a little over 78,000 in traditional album sales in his second week since releasing ASTROWORLD. Minaj's last album, The Pinkprint, pushed 244,000 equivalent album units its first week and also debuted at No. 2.

Last week, Scott managed to have the second-largest week for an album this year, trailing only behind Drake. He also dethroned the Scorpion rapper from the No. 1 spot after five weeks on top. Behind Drake and La Flame, there's Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys at No. 3 (461,000), followed by J. Cole’s KOD (397,000), and then Cardi B's debut Invasion of Privacy (255,000).

Minaj's second-place finish concludes a week that includes her fight with DJ Self, releasing a new video, dropping twoloose tracks, adding her 6ix9ine collab “Fefe” to Queen, and her Twitter war with her ex Safaree.
