Of course, we mean this in the best way possible -- who doesn’t love to throw on a pair of headphones for a good cathartic cry? On his first release in 2019, moody pop wonderkid Madhouse taps into the darkness within to craft a wistful banger that’ll have us looking out of car windows like we’re the protagonist in our own arthouse flick.
This is Madhouse’s first release since last July’s “Loose Flow”, and signals a new sonic era for the R&B-influenced singer-songwriter. Multi-instrumentalist, Herag Sanbalian, and DARKROOM mastermind, Sascha Andor, get production credits on the fresh single and really flex their chops here blending post-Black Panther Weeknd vibes with millennial Max Martin chord structure.
Speaking with us via email, Madhouse breaks down the song's meaning. "'The freeness of the instrumentals represent the emotions I had for this person. It’s a reflection of the high points in our time together. Somewhere along the lines we both got lost, but now we’re both able to work on forming our true identities."
