Actors Halle Berry and Michael B. Jordan are among the celebrities who are expressing support for Megan Thee Stallion.
On Friday, Berry and Jordan took to Twitter to say they were standing behind the Houston rapper, who recently shed more light on a shooting incident involving Tory Lanez.
The tweets came just a day after Megan publicly accused Lanez of shooting her in her feet on July 12 in Los Angeles. The artist had previously confirmed she sustained gun wounds during the incident but initially declined to say who was behind the trigger. Following weeks of speculation and swirling rumors, Megan called out Lanez and his team for spreading lies to the media and finally alleged what many people have suspected: Lanez was the one who shot her.
"Yes, this n***a Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs, lying and shit," she said on Instagram Live. "Stop lying. Why lie? I don't understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you're dragging it."
Megan also denied she had physically assaulted Lanez in the moments leading up to her getting shot and said their argument had nothing to do with Kylie Jenner, as some people theorized.
"I never hit you. Motherfuckers were like, 'Oh she's mad 'cause he's trying to fuck with Kylie Jenner.' No I wasn't," she continued. "You shot me."
Megan said the argument came to a head inside an SUV, which she occupied with her friend, Lanez, and his security guard. She explained that she decided to get out of the vehicle in order to walk away from the clash, and as she was walking away, Lanez allegedly shot her.
Megan said she was scared to tell responding officers what had occurred, fearing they could end up harming everyone who was present once they learned there was a firearm inside the car. She added that, despite Lanez allegedly shooting her, she tried to spare him, but later regretted the decision.
"The police come, I'm scared. All this shit going on with the police? The police is shooting motherfuckers for anything," she said. "The police was literally killing Black people for no motherfucking reason ... You think I'm about to tell the police that we—n***as, us Black people—got a gun in the car? You want me to tell them we got in a gun in a car so they can shoot all of us up? N***a, I'm scared ... Why the fuck would I tell [the police] somebody got a gun in this car and this n***a shot me? So I can get shot, you can shot, she can get shot, he can get shot?"
Los Angeles officials say the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and prosecutors have yet to decide whether they'll pursue assault charges against Lanez. The Canadian rapper was arrested for having a concealed firearm in a vehicle on the night of the shooting.
