Unfortunately, Megan Thee Stallion has become the latest artist to have their promising career stalled by bad contracts and failed negotiations. After Megan went public with her plight with Houston's 1501 Records, a lot of people started to give their opinions on the situation. This prompted Megan's assistant and friend, Kelsey Nicole, to take to Instagram and set the record straight.

In response to Megan revealing her issues, the label owner, Carl Crawford, put a post on Instagram with himself and Rap-A-Lot founder, J. Prince. In the caption, Crawford questions Megan's "loyalty."

"At a time when loyalty is at an all time low it’s nice to be link with @jprincerespect who is steady teaching me how to move in this cutthroat industry," Crawford wrote. "And I know that terrifies some especially the ones who double cross me."

A fan decided to echo these sentiments in the post's comment section.

"Both of the these guys were multimillionaires probably before she was born. They don’t need her. It’s not even about the money. Do y’all have any idea how much money this man has invented in her? Y’all saw it on the Gram...All of the travel (flights) with her and her crew. The hotels, restaurants, clothes.. Y’all know she didn’t have no money. Next thing you know this person is attempting to sign with someone else," the fan wrote. "He’s supposed to be all right with someone else reaping the benefits of all the time and energy he put into her career... Disloyalty is only an offense to the loyal."

In response to his comment, Nicole explained that Megan's relationship with 1501 was mutualistic. Nicole claims that Megan developed herself as an artist because the label didn't have an artist development department when she arrived. Also, Meg has been in complete control of her career and expenses since 2017 and Crawford didn't become her manager until her mother passed away in March 2019. As a result, Nicole claims that Crawford is playing the victim for social media.

Sir you have no idea what you’re talking about Carl hasn’t spent any money on megan since 2017 MEGAN PAYS FOR ALL HER OWN SHIT. Speak facts if you’re going to speak . Megan ain’t never been greedy in her life , and whatever he invested he made back plus more . She didn’t attempt to sign with anyone else , she never not once tried to leave 1501 she simply enhanced her career by accepting a MANAGEMENT deal which she needed at the scale she was/is on . He still benefiting from her so what are you talking about ? And it’s not that she didn’t literally read her contract , she didn’t understand the verbiage at that time and now that she does she simply requested for it to be fixed. As a businessman / ceo he should’ve sat down at the table with her to come up with a solution , but instead he wanted to play victim on social media and then attack his only successful talent . Yes she is a college student, she’s not studying to be a entertainment lawyer so what is your point there ?

You must want her to remain local? News flash no one in Houston can even manage properly or present her or any artist there with opportunities that increase ones invisibility. SN: her late mother was managing her at the time of her career growing rapidly and Farris took on all roles in her wishes . He could’ve turned his back on her, but he remained.Last but not least , when Megan got with 1501 they didn’t have to do any artist development. Truth be told , she developed 1501 . It was a hand in hand situation, which the hand your supporting unfortunately lacked on supporting there own entirely .

On Sunday, Megan explained to her fans that she would not be able to release music because 1501 would not let her out of her initial contract. Megan signed this deal when she was 20 and claims that she has zero ownership over any of the songs she created. Because she's not getting properly compensated for her work, Megan wants to move on from the independent label.

Megan @TheeStallion says her independent label 1501 Certified Entertainment won’t allow her to release new music after she attempted to renegotiate her contract.
