In advance of Kevin Gates’ I'm Him Part 2 Tour, which begins in May, the rapper visited Charlie Sloth’s show to spit a freestyle for Sloth’s "Fire in the Booth" segment. Here, the New Orleans emcee waxed on everything from his arsenal of cars to how he came from nothing, punctuated by his raspy vocals.
Gates has been busy. Riding high off the release of his 2019 sophomore album I’m Him, the rapper released the video for the album cut “Fatal Attraction” and the new single “Dreka,” which is named after his wife. “Dreka” is his first offering since I’m Him. In January, the couple stopped by Everyday Struggle to discuss everything from pregnancy rumors, their relationship, and the meaning behind the “Fatal Attraction” video.
Gates’ I’m Him Part 2 Tour kicks off on May 19 in Denver, Colorado, with dates in Austin, Minneapolis, and Baltimore, before closing on June 13 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee.
