Pop Smoke's Family Reportedly Involving Themselves in Murder Investigation

Following the news of Pop Smoke's untimely death at the age of 20, his family has reportedly flown to LAX from NYC to help with the murder investigation. TMZ reports his family is still reeling from his death, but they immediately flew to the West Coast when they heard the news.

Since arriving in the city they've been trying to understand what happened, especially now that it's been reported Pop Smoke's murder was possibly a "targeted hit" rather than a home invasion as initially thought. A source close to the situation says the Brooklyn artist's family didn't think he had any enemies in Los Angeles, and since Pop spends so much in New York they believe it's unlikely someone followed him out there to harm him.

Numerous family members have reportedly started to question friends and witnesses who were reportedly at the Hollywood Hills house in which he was murdered. Additionally, they've allegedly asked for security footage from the property. The indication it wasn't a robbery gone wrong arrived when surveillance footage showed the presumed shooter not carrying anything when he left the property.

Pop Smoke was in the city to promote Meet the Woo 2, which came out earlier this month. His family says he planned to stay for a little longer, too, before heading off on tour in March. The investigation into his murder is ongoing, but that hasn't stopped his family from reportedly getting involved.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office released their findings from the rapper's autopsy on Friday and listed "gunshot wound to the torso" as the cause of death.
