Gucci Mane beef with 'The Breakfast Club'

Gucci Mane reignited his feud with The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee and DJ Envy this week, calling Yee a “punk ass bitch” and threatening to slap Envy the next time they crossed paths.

The comments came shortly after Gucci and the co-hosts separately addressed rumors about whether the rapper had been banned from appearing on The Breakfast Club

Although the beef between Guwop, Yee, and Envy reached a new level this year, it traces back to a 2016 interview on The Breakfast Club, in which Yee and Gucci disagreed on a past interaction. Gucci Mane may have turned over a new, more positive leaf after he was released from prison in late 2016, but that doesn’t mean he’s above a public beef. Here’s a chronological breakdown of Gucci’s feud with The Breakfast Club co-hosts.

Gucci was making the rounds in support of his album The Return of East Atlanta Santa when he appeared on The Breakfast Club in late 2016. What initially started out as a friendly chat, soon turned into a conversation between Guwop and host Angela Yee about their last encounter. After Gucci acknowledged the two had “history,” Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy asked whether Guwop and Yee had been sexually involved. “She done tried,” the rapper replied, causing the male co-hosts to laugh. “She was on my dick back then.”

Yee denied the claims, but Gucci proceeded, claiming the radio host attempted to come to his hotel room one night. “You used to be texting me, ‘What hotel you was at?’ and stuff like that,” he added.

October 3, 2019: Gucci Mane claims he was banned from ‘The Breakfast Club’

After nearly four years of silence, Gucci revived his beef with Yee and The Breakfast Club on Instagram, claiming he had been banned from the Power 105 radio show. “Wow! So you mean to tell me The Breakfast Club BANNED me 4 this? #TruthHurts #Getoffmydick,” he wrote in the caption of a clip from the 2016 interview.

Gucci also included a clip from a 2010 interview on Yee’s Lip Service podcast, which shows a seemingly flirtatious exchange between the two. “Can you take it?” Gucci asked.

“I’m sure,” Yee replied. “You know what they say about little girls, especially Asian ones.”

At the time of the Instagram post, Gucci did not provide any other information regarding his alleged banning. He followed up his claim by labeling the host “pussy-ass whores” on Twitter.

In a segment on the Power 105 show called Breakfast Club Court, Yee addressed rumors of a romantic relationship between her and Gucci, as well as whether the rapper was banned from the syndicated series. Yee insisted that Gucci was not banned from the show and also claimed that a representative for the rapper called to apologize for Gucci’s behavior. She rejected the apology, saying, “I don’t do that behind the scenes. You said something publicly that wasn’t true, you should apologize.”

Later in the segment, Yee doubled down on her initial claim, saying she was never interested in pursuing Guwop romantically. “He has a history of lying,” she said, noting that their feud stems from an interview The Breakfast Club did with Yo Gotti in 2016, where the rapper admits to having sex with Gucci’s wife, Keyshia Ka’Oir. “He’s upset, to this day, and I guess he felt some vendetta toward me,” she added.

Only two weeks after claiming he was banned from The Breakfast Club, Gucci retracted his statement on an episode of Everyday Struggle

After being asked about his ongoing drama with Yee, he admitted, “I don’t think I was actually banned. I don’t think they never used the word banned.” While the word “banned” was never thrown around, Gucci claimed the co-hosts would decline an interview request every time he reached out to promote a new album.

Gucci added, “It happened so many times it was like, you know, ‘Am I banned from up there?’ It was like, ‘Basically.’ Every time we say, ‘Hey, Gucci want to come up here, its an album coming out.’ They always decline. It’s cause they say they don’t feel comfortable. They don’t trust me. Well, that’s what she said.”

Guwop also claimed Yee was “embarrassed” by their 2016 confrontation, which is why he says she wouldn’t want him on the show again.

The old Gucci Mane made a rare appearance in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God. In the interview, Gucci fired shots at both Yee and Envy over their Breakfast Club Court segment.

“It came from that pussy-ass bitch,” Gucci said in response to Charlamagne’s question about rumors that he was banned from The Breakfast Club. “And DJ Envy—he’s a pussy, too,” he added. “Envy’s pussy, man.”

Although he didn’t state it at the time, the rapper’s issue with Envy stemmed from the DJ’s comments on Breakfast Club Court, where he referenced Gucci’s 2013 Twitter rant that he claimed to have had sex with popular women in the music industry including Nicki Minaj, Ciara, and Monica

Gucci accused Envy of being scared to do the interview alongside Charlamagne, saying, “He ain’t have the nuts to come. I’mma confront him about what he and Angela did, and if he come at me wrong, I’mma slap the shit out him. It ain’t gonna be his first time getting slapped.”

October 21, 2019: DJ Envy responds to Gucci’s threat

Hours after Gucci threatened to slap him, DJ Envy responded on Instagram with a picture of himself and his dog.

Envy first denied rumors that he’s been “slapped, snuffed, or jumped” by any other artist, before defending Yee: “[Gucci Mane] was never banned from The Breakfast Club. When asked, ‘Would I do an interview without Yee…’ My reply was, ‘I will not do anything unless you clear it with my co-worker.’ We call that riding for your team where I’m from!!! He’s upset because my coworker defended herself... Never in a million years will I tell my co-hosts what to say or what not to say. We share that platform.

Envy reassured fans that his kids and wife “are good” and he would continue to enjoy his vacation in Paris.
