Lil Yachty said that he wrote the entirety of City Girls' hit song "Act Up" in a new interview with Kerwin Frost.

The Teenage Emotions rapper set the record straight about his contribution to the song after seeing people try to downplay his involvement. Yachty said he heard people claiming he shared a line or two and wanted to be clear about just how much of the single was his.

"He may have said like one thing in the studio and they credit him," Yachty said. "I wrote the whole song except for JT's last verse. But everything that everyone is singing and all. I wrote the whole thing."

Yachty said it wasn't hard to get into the group's headspace. Boat revealed he was able to channel the energy of headstrong and raunchy hits by women.

"I just thought like them. I know them personally," he said. "I know what women like to hear...what's just some raunchy shit?"

Fans were taken aback by Yachty's ability to write such a women-centered hit.

the fact that lil yachty wrote “act up” by city girls is a mind fuck. lol.
