The lawyer of the 24-year-old woman who accused Chris Brown of raping her in a French hotel room last week has stated that his client hopes a criminal investigation will be opened to address her claims.

In a statement obtained by The Blast, Franck Serfati, the lawyer of Brown's accuser, explained that his client wishes to see charges brought upon the singer. “We hope legally that the Public Prosecutor will open a criminal investigation to shed light on these very serious facts," he stated. “As of today, I do not know if Chris Brown has filed a complaint against my client,” Serfati continued. “But we know that the ‘best defense is the attack.'”

Brown was released by French police without any conditions on Tuesday after authorities expressed that they doubted the accuser's allegations. Following his prompt release, Brown indicated that he intended on suing the alleged victim for defamation. "Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him. He vigorously challenges the charges against him," Chiche said. "A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the public prosecutor of Paris," the singer's French lawyer, Raphael Chiche said.

However, Serfati reiterated in his statement that he and his client intend on combatting Brown's legal strategy. "We will fight to thwart his defense strategy, especially since my client claims to be a victim of aggravated rape, allegedly committed by three individuals, whose explanations seem to contain contradictions," he explained.

Since news of the allegations spread, several of Brown's famous colleagues have come to his defense. Among those who vouched for the singer included Joyner Lucas, who repulsively claimed that because Brown is attractive, he wouldn't rape a woman.

Additionally, Brown is attempting to prove his innocence by selling merch that shamefully insults the women who have accused him. The singer took to Instagram to claim the allegations were "false and a whole lot of cap!" In a now-deleted post, the singer also offensively stated, "THIS B!TCH LYIN." He then plastered the "THIS B!TCH LYIN." phrase on a new line of t-shirts accompanied by photos of the Mona Lisa.
