Chicago rapper Valee burst onto the scene earlier this year when he was signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music and released GOOD Job, You Found Me. While he's yet to officially announce his debut studio album to be released through the label, he has been sharing a number of well-received one-off singles, making sure that he remains in the conversation. To close out his year, he's shared the video for his Matt Ox collaboration, "Awesome."
The ChaseTheMoney-produced track sees Valee and the 13-year-old rapper Ox, who recently dropped his debut album OX which also featured Valee, joining forces with some surprisingly good chemistry. The two make for a compelling team, and the video shows the pair showcasing their success by rapping from both a helicopter and a garage filled with exotic cars.
It's a simple video, but it perfectly matches the minimal but menacing beat of the track. Hopefully, the release of the video indicates that Valee has a more substantial project on the way sometime next year.
Considering Ox turns 14 later this month, it's safe to say that he's doing very well all things considered. His debut album also featured appearances from Key! and Chief Keef, although the focus of the project sits squarely on him and the impressive team of producers he assembled. The Philly-based rapper first gained attention for the video for his song "Overwhelming," which went viral last year when he was only 12.
