Despite not releasing a record this year, Kehlani has had a big 2018. In October, she announced that she was four months pregnant. With her baby due to arrive next year, she's just teased that fans can also expect something else new from her in 2019, too.
"2018 was incredible," she wrote on her Instagram. "I conquered so many fears, and tackled so many goals. I did my first fashion week, toured America, then Australia, then Asia." Perhaps most excitingly, however, she revealed that at the end of all her touring she finally got back to making new music, despite being "pregnant as hell."
Explaining further, she said, "After all the touring I got home and started an album, which resulted in completing a mixtape in a month." In 2017, Kehlani released her debut record SweetSexySavage, but before that she made her name with two stellar mixtapes, Cloud 19 in 2014, and You Should Be Here in 2015. She didn't indicate when fans can expect to hear the mixtape or the album which currently isn't even finished, but just knowing new Kehlani is on the way is more than enough to get excited.
She's been teasing a new mixtape for a while now, previously writing, "Finished a tape" on an Instagram selfie.
