Travis Scott was in Houston on November 18 to accept the honor of the city declaring it 'Astroworld Day.'

In an acceptance speech at city hall, the rapper got caught up in the moment and was clearly excited by the recognition. He didn't slip up like he did the day before at Astroworld Fest, though.  While no one knows whether Travis and his beau Kylie Jenner are married, the rapper nonetheless called her his "beautiful wife" on the mic.

Thank you, @trvisXX for stopping by city hall the day after your successful #AstroworldFest2018 . Your message to the high school students in the room left a great impression. #TravisScott pic.twitter.com/EePpeNsfiW

At city hall, Scott explained the inspiration behind his hit album. The collection is named after a shuttered amusement park in Scott's hometown — immortalizing that park is a big part of the reason why the city chose to honor Scott — and he said that he wanted to bring back the vibe of the theme park in music.

"I grew up here my whole life. I was inspired by Astroworld. In '05 when they took it away, it kind of like took a big piece of my heart away," he said. "I just wanted to kind of bring back that feeling and give this city something [so] they can always have something fun to do."

He also praised the city's resiliency, as Houston is recovering from the impact of several devastating hurricanes. Being a Texan himself, Scott was confident that his hometown will persevere.

"One thing about Texas, man. We just stand strong," he said. "We don't need nothing special as long as we have each other and somewhere to mess around and just have fun, we can get to it."
