Star-crossed lovers Noah Cyrus and Lil Xan’s relationship is officially over. After a solid one-month run, the two rising musicians are calling it quits thanks to a scandalous Charlie Puth meme.
“I feel like I’m probably being cheated on,” Xan wrote in a since deleted IG post on Monday, prompting fans to wonder what’s going on between the Gen Z couple.
Cyrus then went to her own Instagram to offer up the only explanation she could fathom: Charlie Puth’s head on a porn star’s body. “I'm heartbroken and confused,” she wrote. “This is the meme I sent Diego that made him think im cheating on him.”
Sure, this seems a little far-fetched to think a meme complete with an eggplant emoji prompted this mess, but crazier things have happened in 2018. “I’ll try to explain it more in the next couple of days,” she said on IG Live, perPeople. “I never did anything that I’m getting accused of.”
Crying, she then tells her young fans to “get away from every fucing [sic] person that goes into your life and just crushes it and crumbles it and makes you feel like a piece of fucing [sic] shit,” before ranting about boys and their gaslighting tendency to make girls feel bad “when you were the one that sat around being there for somebody.”
Just a few weeks after their relationship began, Cyrus and Xan collaborated on the track “Live or Die.” Xan announced the video for that track is never coming, before sharing a troubling revelation. “I’ve just been informed that basically it’s all fake and I’m being used. So fuck it. I guess I was just being used," he posted on his IG story, before sharing a photo of Noah getting cozy with @Ookay that he cites as evidence of her infidelity. "I thought I was in love but whatever. I’ll take that L. Heartbreak soldier; thanks Noah. Hope the song does well.”
He might be onto something. Conveniently this breakup comes right as Noah is announcing her upcoming ep titled Good Cry, which is what everyone needs after a heartbreaking split. Is this a publicity stunt? Is Lil Xan being played in a plot to get Cyrus more streams? Is Charlie Puth not the real victim here? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
