Kevin Gates is a man of strong opinions who frequently shares those views in social media videos. His latest video, however, might upset a few of his fans as well as Colin Kaepernick's. Chiming in on Kaepernick's protest, Gates says that he believes he should have never taken a knee.
"A lot of people are going to look at this fucked up," says Gates. "I love Colin Kaepernick. That’s my brother. I love his beautiful queen Nessa. I love these people with all my heart. He should have never took a knee.... We bow for no man under the stars but Allah. He should have stood palms up." Gates is a practicing Muslim.
Kaepernick filed a grievance in October last year saying he believes that there's been collusion between team owners to make sure he never plays for a team in the NFL ever again. The Guardian reported on Thursday that the grievance will be going to trial after an arbitrator turned down the league's request for the case to be dismissed. Meanwhile, Kevin Gates is prepping Luca Brasi 3 and recently dropped a four-song EP with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
