Kanye West returned to Twitter on Wednesday night to share some thoughts about his "friend" and accused sexual predator ASAP Bari.
In July 2017, a video surfaced online of the Harlem rapper berating a naked and visibly distressed woman. Bari was filmed telling the woman, "You fucked my assistant, now you’re going to suck my dick," before ripping off the bed sheets that were covering her. She was then seen trying to leave the room, while other men watched.
The video sparked allegations of sexual assault; however, Bari insisted the footage was "misleading." Back in August, the rape case stemming from the footage was dismissed because the alleged victim refused to cooperate with investigators.
Kanye expressed his regret over not publicly supporting his friends during their controversies, specifically naming Bari and XXXTentacion, who was accused of multiple violent crimes before his death.
Kanye posted the supportive message just days before his Yandhi project is expected to drop.
