In 2016, Atlanta's 6lack seemingly came out of nowhere with his impressive project Free 6lack. Two years later, he's toured the world, become a father, collaborated with artists like Khalid, Ty Dolla Sign, Syd, and more. That said, his new album East Atlanta Love Letter displays the sense of growth and depth we'd expect to hear from an artist who took his time to perfect his sophomore album.

The title East Atlanta Love Letter might fool many into thinking they're gearing up to hear a bubbly, lovey-dovey album. But we know 6lack's style. He's able to write about love—all angles of it: the honeymoon stage, heartbreak, the pain and joy of learning to love yourself, and everything in between—in a manner that doesn't just feel sweet and romantic, but makes you think.

6lack's rollout emphasized this as he sent letters to fans with various questions about love. Asking them to answer tough questions about monogamy, how they know when they're in love, craziest thing they've done for love, etc. His album seems to provide the soundtrack for listeners to continue pondering on these same questions.

Guests on East Atlanta Love Letter include Future, J. Cole, Offset, and Khalid. Stream it below via Spotify or grab it on iTunes/Apple Music.
