Travis Scott, whose mood-lifting ASTROWORLD is presently enjoying another week at No. 1, has reportedly had his seating arrangement changed for tonight's MTV Video Music Awards.
According toTMZ, whom I routinely mock for reporting on such things while simultaneously citing those same reports, Scott and Kylie Jenner will now be seated "on the opposite side of the room" from Nicki Minaj. The original seating layout, as teased in a production photo early Monday, had La Flame and Jenner sitting directly behind Minaj.
Though it's common knowledge now that Minaj isn't exactly a fan of the fact that ASTROWORLD retained the top spot on the Billboard 200 ahead of her own Queen album, Monday's report alleges that the seating change-up is unrelated. Instead, TMZ claims, the decision was made to more prominently showcase the artist with the top album in the country.
"I put my blood sweat & tears in writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi," Minaj said on Twitter Sunday, adding that she felt Billboard chart tabulation rules should be changed. She also alleged that Spotify messed with her album promo to "teach her a lesson" for debuting new music on her Beats 1 show.
Monday, Spotify responded. "Spotify supported Nicki Minaj with a Times Square billboard, a host of the largest playlists, New Music Friday, and the new music release shelf," a rep for the streaming service toldHits Daily Double. "Her song 'Bed' actually saw an increase based on the promotions put behind the campaign. The company continues to be big fans of Nicki."
