Tragically, Drake's "Summer Games" is not the No. 1 song in the nation. As of Monday, that distinction goes to fellow Scorpion Side B cut "In My Feelings," which I guess is fine considering the track gave us remarkable footage of Will Smith obliterating the resulting Shiggy dance in Budapest.
Though the track clearly would have been a massive hit even without the challenge, Drake hit his Instagram Story overnight to thank Shiggy for the boosted signal. "Oh my goodness," Drake said while filming Shiggy doing this thing in Los Angeles Monday night. "Man got me a No. 1 record today. Oh my god!" In his own simultaneous Story update, Shiggy joked that Drake owes him a check. "Look at that shit!" he said. "Yeah, No. 1!"
As reported Monday, Drake dethroned his own "Nice for What" with "In My Feelings," a feat that bagged him even more chart-related brags. For example, he's now one of only four artists in Billboard history to replace their own songs in the top Hot 100 spot on two occasions. The Beatles, Justin Bieber, and Usher are the other artists hit-stacked enough to have pulled off the same accomplishment.
Speaking of Beatles, enjoy this immediately:
Earlier this month, prolific director Karena Evans was spotted in New Orleans shooting a new video, presumably for "In My Feelings." We should probably expect that to drop fairly soon.
