Compton native Buddy recruits Khalid for his latest single “Trippin’” ahead of the release of his debut album Harlan & Alondra.

The sedative track laced with drug references is the rapper’s fourth single in four months. The steady stream of releases including “Hey Up There” featuring Ty Dolla Sign, “Trouble on Central,” and his ASAP Ferg-assisted song “Black.”

Buddy announced the release date of his debut album tweeting “FRIDAY AFTER NEXT!” So, Friday, July 20. Buddy is signed to his own imprint Cool Lil Company / RCA. Khalid is also on RCA as well.

Buddy is currently touring North America with Ferg on the Mad Man Tour until August. It’s unclear if the rising star plans on hitting the road solo after the release of Harlan & Alondra.

Last week, Khalid dropped the video for his crooning summer hit single “OTW” featuring 6lack and Ty Dolla Sign. The singer is expected to drop his sophomore album sometime later this year.
