The Game Buys 4 Pairs of Lonzo Ball's Sneakers and Rips Michael Jordan in the Process

The Game showed support for Big Baller Brand by purchasing four pairs of Lonzo Ball's new sneaker. He also ripped Michael Jordan after doing it.

Most sneaker insiders told us they would not be spending almost $500 to purchase Lonzo Ball’s new Big Baller Brand ZO2 sneakers. But clearly, someone out there is buying them. There has been some dispute over how many pairs of the sneakers have been sold—Nice Kicks released a report that suggested that roughly 260 pairs had been sold in the first few days, while Lonzo’s dad LaVar Ballsaid almost 500 pairs had been purchased initially—but regardless of the exact number, there are plenty of ZO2 sneakers that have hit shopping carts over the last week.

One of the people who ponied up $495 for the sneakers was The Game. And he bought more than just one pair. In an Instagram post he put up late Wednesday, the Compton rapper revealed that he bought four pairs of the ZO2 sneakers for his son Harlem and a few of his friends. It doesn’t sound like Game himself has any interest in wearing the ZO2 sneakers, but he still spent almost $2,000 on them to show support for what the Balls are trying to do with Big Baller Brand.

He did more than just buy the sneakers, too. In his IG caption, he also ripped those who have taken aim at the Balls for aiming high with their ambitions, and he criticized those who spend all of their hard-earned money on Air Jordans. He even ripped Michael Jordan at one point for failing to do more for the communities that purchase his sneakers and apparel.

"MJ, as much as I love & support him & his legacy ain’t really ever did much for the black community other then tax our mothafuckin’ ass for the same shoes over & over as well as charge these kids parents hella money to get in these camps," Game wrote. "no hate…MJ is MJ but today I chose to support @Zo & his family…fuck how anybody feel about it."

Game also said he plans to buy 10 additional pairs of the ZO2 sneakers so that he can give them to kids who can't afford them. And he isn’t the only celebrity to purchase ZO2 sneakers. Chad Johnson, Michael Bennett, and others have also committed to buying a pair.
