UPDATE: According to Spin, BBC announced on air earlier today that they will be premiering Adele's new single on Oct. 30. It's not known if the single is the song that was previewed over the weekend, or if it's a new song entirely.
Over the weekend, new music from Adele was unexpectedly previewed during a commercial for X Factor in the U.K. As you might imagine, this sent fans into a frenzy of speculation that her long-awaited follow up to 21 was finally on the way.
Well, Adele just ended all of the rumors, as she confirmed that her new album, which is titled 25, is on the way via a personal letter, where she explained that the project was delayed because "life happened." The note also touches on the themes for the upcoming project, but unfortunately, she didn't reveal when the album will be released yet. "25 is about getting to know who I've become without realizing. And I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened," Adele wrote.
Rumors have been swirling for months that Adele was planning on a November release for the album, but as of now nothing has been confirmed. One thing is clear though: Adele is back and ready to take over her throne once again.
